Moscow: In the city of Tolyatti, Safia Askarova, a 16-year-old vice-champion of Russia in swimming, was killed. The body of the girl was found on a wasteland with 17 stab wounds. This is reported by the Russian media.
"From the victim, all the jewelry was taken, with her, there was no mobile phone, and the murder weapon was found nearby," said in a statement.
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported the arrest of a suspect in a crime. It was a 16-year-old local resident, an acquaintance of a girl. According to law enforcement officers, the young man inflicted several knife wounds to the victim during a quarrel, from which she died on the spot.
Now an investigation is underway and the question of electing a suspect a preventive measure is being resolved.
We recall that Safia Askarova was a master of sports in swimming. Last year, she won the silver medal at the Russian Championship among juniors.
