Kyiv: Commander of the Naval Forces of Ukraine Ihor Voronchenko said that he was ready to change himself for the captured Ukrainian sailors. This is reported by the local media.
“My heart breaks when I see our militaries illegally held by Russia. I will be ready to go to a Russian prison if Putin releases my 24 people,” Voronchenko said.
He also said that he did not believe in the imaginary support of NATO ships that President Poroshenko wants to bring to the Sea of Azov, although such a decision is appropriate.
“There is an agreement of 2003, according to which every ship of a third country, which wants to enter the Sea of Azov, must receive permission from Ukraine and Russia. In other words, even if Ukraine wanted, Russia would not allow it,” Voronchenko said.
We recall that the Russian side claims that the Ukrainian navy seized near the Kerch Strait is receiving the necessary treatment in Moscow’s detention facilities.
