Kyiv: Macedonia will join NATO in mid-2020.
This was stated in an interview with Reuters, by the Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Matthew Palmer.
It was noted that until that time, its agreement with Greece on the name change should be fully implemented, despite Russia's attempts to undermine this process.
“I don’t think that there is reason not to believe that Northern Macedonia can become the 30th member of NATO in 18 months. This is quite a realistic date,” he stated.
At the same time, Palmer expressed concern about the influence of Russia both in Macedonia and in other countries of the Western Balkans -Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania and Kosovo.
Recall that NATO once again declared support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia.
