Kyiv: US Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Walker supported the introduction of the post of EU Special Representative for the Crimea and Donbass.
He said this in an interview with the Interfax-Ukraine news agency.
“I think this is a great idea. I met with members of the European Parliament about two weeks ago. And I urged them to continue to keep the Crimea and the Donbass in the focus of attention,” he said.
He believes that it is impossible to allow the disappearance of the topic of Crimea and Donbass from the general discussion.
“People there still suffer daily from a serious humanitarian crisis, the war continues, there it is still unsafe, people are still dying. We must not allow all this to disappear from the public consciousness. It is very important that we focus our attention on these issues, ”Walker explained.
As you know, in October, the European Parliament prepared a draft resolution on the actions of the Russian Federation in the Sea of Azov, and also proposed to introduce the post of EU Special Representative for the Crimea, Donbass and the Sea of Azov.
