Washington: Facebook has introduced a new feature for creating 3D photos, thanks to the neural network processing of ordinary images taken in portrait mode.
This was reported by a specialized resource TechCrunch.
This is the effect by which you will get photos with a moving background and a fixed object in the foreground.

To do this, go through the following route: Create a publication -> Photo / Video and activate the function of placing a 3D photo there. Artificial intelligence will process the photo and give a picture with the original effect.
It was reported that now the conversion function is available only to owners of smartphones with dual cameras: 7 Plus, 8 Plus, X, XS and XS Max, which store data on the depth of the image, and therefore allow you to create 3D-images based on them. However, other smartphones have similar functionality, so later the function will be available not only for iPhone.

You can view such 3D photos on an ordinary smartphone as well as in VR using the Oculus browser on Oculus Go or Firefox on the Oculus Rift.
They also advised the company to avoid transparent objects, such as plastic or glass, and to choose contrasting backgrounds and details to make high-quality 3D photos.

Facebook is actively improving its social networks. Earlier it became known that the Instagram team is working on a new management system.
