Kyiv: Ukrainian political scientist Petro Oleschuk commented on the resolution adopted by the Verkhovna Rada “On the approval of proposals for the use of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions)” on NewsOne and 112 Ukraine TV channels. According to him, the Parliament, thus, is trying to provide an image of these channels, as a key opposition, and also to popularize them.
He said this in the comments to Front News International.
“At the moment, we cannot talk about the introduction of any sanctions. This is a popularization of these channels, they thus get the image of the country's key opposition media,” he said.
Oleschuk also added that the only type of prohibition that can be applied is the frequencies, but you need to understand that the frequencies only concern cable television.
We recall, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine submitted to the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine a proposal on the application of sanctions against 112 Ukraine and TV companies NewsOne.
