Beijing: At the recently concluded in the Chinese city of Shijiazhuang International Fair of Digital Economy-2018, the American magazine Forbes for the first time presented a rating of the top 100 leading companies in the world, whose activities are related to the digital economy.

This is reported by the Chinese newspaper "People's Daily", with reference to the Xinhua News Agency.

The rating was led by Amazon, which is classified in the rating as a retail business. The second place was taken by Netflix as the leading provider of video products based on streaming media. The third, fourth and fifth places were occupied by NVIDIA Corporation, Salesforce.com, and ServiceNow, respectively.

Chinese technology giant Tencent took the 18th line, leading among all enterprises of mainland China in the ranking.

This rating includes enterprises from 17 countries and regions of the world, including 49 enterprises from the USA and 16 from the continental part of China. By these figures, these two countries have surpassed the rest of the world.

The International Fair of Digital Economy-2018 was held from September 20 to 22 in Shijiazhuang City, the administrative center of the North Chinese province of Hebei. It was attended by more than 150 representatives from 41 countries and regions of the world, including the United States, Germany, France, Japan and the Republic of Korea, as well as about a thousand businessmen, entrepreneurs, and experts.

In May this year, the co-owner of North Island Holdings, technology investor Glenn Hutchins, in a comment to CNBC, expressed confidence that with the development of the cryptocurrency market, altcoins could be pressured by bitcoin just as VHS videotapes supplanted Betamax in the 1980s.

And in early September, German Finance Minister Olaf Scholz said that European tax reform to increase fees from large digital firms would require additional time to reconcile all the nuances.
