Nuclear Agreement: Iran Threatens EU

  • Nuclear Agreement Iran Threatens EU

KYIV (FNI) - Europeans should not submit to the US, the Iranian Foreign Minister said. If the EU remains too passive, Iran can again increase enrichment of uranium, the minister said during his speech.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif blamed the EU for failing to respond adequately to the US withdrawal from the nuclear agreement. "Europeans and other signatories must act in order to compensate for the impact of US sanctions." Iran will not necessarily leave the nuclear agreement, perhaps, "we use it". One of the options will be that Iran will activate enrichment with uranium.

Sarif urged EU member states to authorize the company "if they withdraw from the Iranian business because of US sanctions." It was about whether "Europe is subordinate to the dictates of the United States."

The United States unilaterally terminated the international nuclear deal in May, in which Iran limits its nuclear capabilities. In early November, another round will follow, in which the US wants to prevent oil exports to the country.

Meanwhile, the EU, China and Russia are trying to preserve a nuclear deal after the US has resigned.

Earlier it was reported that the President of the United States, Donald Trump, noted that the US will withdraw from the World Trade Organization (WTO), if the EU does not improve its attitude towards them. Also, Trump rejected the idea of zero duties on cars between the US and the EU.
