MOSCOW (FNI) - Today, September 1, Russian President Vladimir Putin held talks with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. During the conversation, the sides discussed issues of economic development of both countries and further bilateral relations between Russia and Azerbaijan.

"Various issues of the bilateral agenda, prospects for development of trade and economic cooperation were discussed. An exchange of views took place on the current international and regional problems. Within the framework of the visit, a package of intergovernmental and commercial documents was also signed," the Kremlin administration reported.
In the opinion of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the trade turnover between the two countries is quite good.
"Last year trade between our countries grew by 34 percent, even over 34 percent, whereas in the first six months of this year the sales volumes of civilian industry products grew by 20 percent. These are very good indicators." said Vladimir Putin.
Within the framework of the meeting, the Azerbaijani President also added that the issue of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict remains important.
"Of course, we are also going to discuss issues related to the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and other regional issues." Ilham Aliyev said.
