KYIV (FNI) - The Kyiv local prosecutor's office No. 5 opened a criminal case against lawyers Viktor Yanukovych. The criminal case was brought in connection with their obstacle in access to the court by the public defender to the accused.

This was reported by Interfax with reference to the press service of the prosecutor's office in Kyiv.

"These events took place on August 16 in the premises of the Obolonsky district court of the capital. The information on this fact was included in the Single Register of Pre-Trial Investigations (Edrey) under Part 1 of Article 377 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (interference in the activities of the defense counsel or representative of the person)," the press service said, Interfax reports.

Viktor Yanukovych is suspected of committing crimes under Part 1 of Art. 111 (state change), part 5 of Art. 27 p. 3 tbsp. 110 (aiding in intentional acts committed with the aim of changing the borders of the territory and state border of Ukraine) and Part 5 of Art. 27 p. 3 tbsp. 437 (aiding in the conduct of an aggressive war) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
