KYIV (FNI) - At least 11 people were killed and more than 30 injured in western Afghanistan due to a blast of a bus that hit a bomb.

This was reported on Tuesday, July 31, by local doctors and law enforcers.

According to a police spokesman in the western province of Farah Mohibullah Mogiba, the incident occurred about 4:30 am on the highway between the city of Herat and Helmand province in south-west Afghanistan.

According to him, at least 7 people were killed and 27 were injured. However, according to Reuters, the representative of the emergency medical service in Herat said that the dead were 11, and the wounded - 31.

According to the authorities, road bombs and improvised explosive devices are among the main causes of civilian casualties in Afghanistan. In the United Nations, for the first half of the year, more than a thousand civilians were killed and wounded.
