MOSCOW (FNI) - On February 20th, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin discussed the settlement of the armed conflict in Ukraine and the situation in the Syrian city of Arfin, during his meeting with the permanent members of the Security Council.
"A detailed exchange of views on the situation in Syria as well as the Afrin conflict took place. The issue of settlement in the southeast of Ukraine and implementation of the Minsk agreements was touched upon, in the light of recent contacts between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Ukrainian counterpart," Kremlin press service says.
Kremlin reports that the current issues of the socio-economic agenda were discussed during the meeting.
On February 19th, Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Russia’s President Vladimir Putin have discussed over phone call Turkey’s Olive Branch military operation in the Syrian city of Afrin.
