Kyiv: The Ukrainian side and the Russian-backed groups "LPR" and "DPR" agreed on lists for the exchange of prisoners of war, Irina Gerashchenko said.
"At zero. Lists are discussed and agreed upon. We have fulfilled this stage and soon the liberation begins," Gerashchenko said.
It is already known that three people, whom the Ukrainian side was supposed to hand over to LPR/DPR refused to exchange and expressed a desire to remain in the territory of the Ukrainian government under the control.
In the captivity of militants in the occupied territory of the east of Ukraine there are 152 Ukrainians. More than 40 Ukrainian citizens are political prisoners in Russia.
President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on November 16 held talks with the leaders of the militants "LPR" and "DPR " regarding the release of the hostages. It is noted that he supported the proposal by Viktor Medvedchuk to exchange 306 for 74 prisoners.

On December 25, in Moscow's St. Daniel's Monastery, with the participation of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill, negotiations were held between the representative of Ukraine in the humanitarian subgroup of the Tripartite Contact Group Viktor Medvedchuk and the leaders of the Russian-backed "LPR/DPR" groupings Leonid Pasechnik and Alexander Zakharchenko, during which the parties agreed to exchange prisoners between Kyiv and the Donbas on December 27.
