Lausanne: The International Olympic Committee, by its decision, banned the use of the coat of arms of Russia, the logo of the National Olympic Committee of the Russian Federation and decided to replace the inscription Russia on Olympic Athlete from Russia during the Winter Olympics in South Korean Pyeongchang in 2018.

The organization sent a document to the national federation, which specifies all the requirements for equipping athletes from Russia at the 2018 Winter Olympics.

The emblem of the NOC of Russia will be replaced by Olympic rings, and the abbreviation RUS, which was usually designated athletes from Russia, will be replaced by the acronym OAR - Olympic athlete from Russia - Olympian from Russia.

On Tuesday, December 5, the International Olympic Committee by its decision suspended the Russian national team from participating in the 2018 Winter Olympics, which are to be held in the South Korean city of Pyeongchang. The IOC noted that Russia will not be admitted to the Games-2018, but individual athletes will be able to compete under the neutral flag.
