Kyiv: The Ukrainian government, in the framework of implementing the Energy Strategy and the “Ukraine-2020” Plan, stands for the complete demonopolization of the gas market and the completion of the reform of the national energy holding Naftogaz of Ukraine, Prime Minister Vladimir Groysman said during the meeting.
He noted that demonopolization carries an increase in competition in the market, and hence a reduction in the price of fuel.
In addition, this requires an increase in production - including from the Naftogaz of Ukraine. In this context, the head of government proposed to update the Supervisory Board of the NAC, which could fully launch the work of the state holding, and then the entire gas industry.
The decision to update the Supervisory Board of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine was unanimously adopted.
Almost a month ago, on October 24, Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Kistion said that after the final decision of the Stockholm Arbitration, the actual liquidation of the Ukrainian monopolist will begin in the tribunal between Naftogaz Ukraine and Russian Gazprom over contracts for the sale and transportation of gas.
