Kyiv: Special Representative of the US State Department for Ukraine Kurt Volker will hold the third round of talks on the situation in the Donbas with Russian President's aide Vladislav Surkov today, November 13, in Belgrade.
The decision on the new meeting was made after an extraordinary visit of Volcker to Ukraine on October 27.
Volker and Surkov intend to discuss the Russian draft UN resolution on the deployment of the peacekeeping mission of the international organization in the Donbas, as well as the implementation of the Minsk agreements and the work of the Minsk Contact Group.
During Kurt Volcker's visit to Ukraine on October 27, he held a working meeting with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko. The sides coordinated further steps to strengthen the international presence in the Donbas, both in the framework of efforts in the Normandy format, and at international venues, primarily in the UN Security Council.
During the visit, Volcker said that the UN resolution on the introduction of peacekeepers in the Donbas may be ready before the end of the year.
The previous meeting between Volker and Surkov took place in Serbia on Saturday, October 7. For the first time they held talks in Belarus on August 21.
