Baku: After the official welcoming ceremony, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev held an individual meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

"The sides expressed satisfaction with the successful development of friendly and fraternal relations between the two countries in all spheres. At the sixth meeting of the Azerbaijani-Turkish High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council, the prospects of our relations and further deepening of our bilateral relations were noted. The importance of opening the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project was stressed, "the press service of Aliyev said.

It is also noted that during the conversation the sides exchanged views on the issues of bilateral relations.

In turn, Erdogan thanked Aliev for his "brotherly reception."

On Monday, October 30, the Azerbaijani capital officially opened a section of the railway along the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars route, which, according to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, would connect China and Great Britain.
