Kyiv:
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko signed the law on the ratification of the
Protocols to the European Convention on Human Rights, which details the rules
for filing lawsuits with the European Court of Human Rights. This was announced
by the chairman of the Ukrainian delegation to the PACE, Vladimir Ariev.
"The
President signed the law on ratification of 15 and 16 protocols to the European
Convention on Human Rights. This is an important document that clearly
regulates the state's obligations to the European Court of Human Rights and
details the rules for filing lawsuits in the ECHR. The Supreme Court of Ukraine
also becomes a body that can apply to the ECtHR for the interpretation of the
Convention. Actually, before you one more proof of the fact that Ukraine
fulfills its obligations to the Council of Europe, "said Ariev.
Earlier, on
June 1, the European Court of Human Rights confirmed the adoption of the legal
position of the Ukrainian side in the case of human rights violations in the
Crimea.
