Strasbourg: During the meeting of the European Parliament on Wednesday, October 25, the issue of free trade with New Zealand and Australia will be discussed.
European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker previously announced EU trade talks with the two countries. Trade in agricultural products with Australia and New Zealand should be a substitute for UK products after its withdrawal from the EU in 2019.
New Zealand is the world's leading producer of meat and dairy products in the world, and Australia is a major exporter of beef and wheat.
In July 2017, Australia and New Zealand announced the beginning of negotiations on a free trade agreement with the Pacific alliance's trade bloc.
