Kyiv: On the morning of May 23th, two pickets took place in front of the Verkhovna Rada. Activists of the environmental movement came out with a demand to support the adoption of draft laws No. 2009a-d "On Environmental Impact Assessment" and No. 6106 "On Strategic Environmental Assessment".

To draw attention to the draft laws, activists spread the map of Ukraine before the Rada and in a theatricalized form showed on it the environmental problems of our country - deforestation, garbage dumps, livestock farms, industrial emissions.

These bills were generally adopted at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada in October 2016, but Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko then sent the bills for revision.

Also before the Rada, the action "Mykola Zaporozhets" was organized by the activists of the GO "Zavtra" and "Free people have a car ", as well as the deputies of UKROP. They came out in support of bills No. 5561 and No. 5562, which, according to the authors, would make available for Ukrainians used cars. Participants of the action want to replace the ecological standards "Euro" for used cars for technical inspection. To prove that this coincides with the European practice, activists bought Zaporozhets in 1991, exported it to Poland, cleared it and put it on the register for 40% of the cost of the car. On this car the participants of the action arranged a symbolic auto race for the cities of Ukraine.
