  • Russia denies illegal military cooperation with Iran

Moscow: Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said that Russia is fulfilling all obligations to the world community, declared in international law, responding to Die Welt's report on illegal military cooperation between Russia and Iran.

"All deliveries of military equipment for export always correspond strictly to the limitations existing in the sanctions lists of the UN Security Council. As for the publication in a respected German newspaper, its authors have obvious problems with honesty and gaps in geographical knowledge, "Rogozin told Interfax.

UN Resolution 2231, signed on July 14, 2015, prohibits the supply of Iranian heavy weapons under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

The Die Welt publication published a material in which it says that Russia and Iran are supplying military equipment and ammunition among themselves, contrary to UN Resolution 2231 on the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan, which prohibits the supply of heavy weapons.
