The Ukrainian authorities are working out possible options for evacuating the population from the occupied part of the Kherson region after the explosion of the Kakhovskaya HPP.

 

 This was reported by the Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko.

 

 "Currently, 29 settlements have been flooded in the territory of the Kherson region, 10 of them are in the temporarily occupied territory. And we are now deciding the possible ways to evacuate our citizens who are on the left bank of the Dnieper, who were abandoned by the Russians," he said. he.

 

 Klymenko reported that 1,854 people had already been evacuated. However, evacuation work continues. At the same time, not only people, but also domestic animals help to take them out. After that, the victims are taken to aid stations.

 

 Rescuers are trying to carry out work as quickly as possible. However, a strong current and shelling from the Russians are getting in the way.

 

 The minister emphasized that the headquarters for liquidation of the consequences of the explosion of the Kakhovskaya HPP will work around the clock as long as it is necessary.

 

 "At the same time, we are working on the tasks that will be in front of us when the water recedes. There is a lot of work. First of all, it will concern environmental pollution. 150 tons of lubricant leaked from the engine room during the blow-up of the hydroelectric power station," added Klymenko.

 

 Evacuation from the Kherson region

 

 Due to the explosion of the Kakhovskaya HPP, water began to fill the right and left banks of the Kherson region, there is a threat of flooding for 80 settlements.

 

 The Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction Oleksandr Kubrakov announced that people from 20 settlements should be evacuated in the occupied Kherson region.

 

 There is no information about civilian casualties. At the same time, the police received three reports about missing persons in the disaster zone in the Kherson region.
