The Russian Federation has begun to implement a provocation with chemical weapons in the Zaporizhzhia region, - GUR

The Russian occupiers could use chemical weapons in the temporarily occupied territories of the Zaporizhzhia region.

The Telegram channel of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine writes about this.

As the GUR notes, the Russians began to implement a provocation with the aim of disrupting the counteroffensive actions of our soldiers. At the same time, the real victims of chemical weapons will be the soldiers of the occupying army, as Russia plans to use the injury marks on their bodies as fake accusations against Ukraine.

"We emphasize that the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine during hostilities with Russian troops use only conventional means, and the regular formations of Moscow's special services are not able to influence the further course of events on the front," the GUR adds.

It should be added that in the intercepted message recorded at 12:15 p.m., one of the occupiers warns of "possible release of chemical weapons from copters." Half an hour later, one of the soldiers complains about the dropping of 2 shells "perhaps with chemical content".

According to Andriy Yusov, a representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense, the Russian occupiers are preparing a provocation at the ZNPP. The enemy can simulate an attack on the station's facilities in order to blame it on Ukraine.

To do this, the Russians can strike directly on the territory of the ZNPP and announce an emergency leak of radioactive substances.
