Negotiations on a new government have officially started in Finland

The leader of the party that won the parliamentary elections in Finland has officially launched negotiations with other political forces on the formation of a new government.

 This is reported by Yle.

The leader of the "National Coalition" Petteri Orpo, who is likely to become the new prime minister, handed the parties a questionnaire with 24 questions to which they must submit written answers by noon on April 18.

"Let's see how the parties see the current situation in Finland, what key social changes they want to promote. It's about public finances, economic growth, services and education," said Orpo.

There is also the question of whether the police force will support the government's initiatives on issues important to it, if it is not part of the coalition.

He added that after that, consultations will begin with each individual political force - all those who passed to the parliament, and after that the "Coalition" will decide with whom to start negotiations about the government.
