Denmark presented Georgia with equipment to fight forest fires worth half a million euros

Georgia received a set of equipment for fighting forest fires worth half a million euros from Denmark.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia reported that the country received a complex of special equipment from Denmark, in particular, powerful water pumps, 10-ton tanks, chainsaws and other equipment.

The total cost of assistance is EUR 500,000.

Forest fires remain a serious challenge in Georgia. In the summer of 2022, fires were extinguished in the Borjomi region for several weeks, and Turkish special helicopters were involved in fighting the fire.

At the end of 2022, Georgia signed a contract for the purchase of three fire-rescue helicopters from France's Airbus Helicopters, which are expected within the next 20 months.
