The first shipment of UN humanitarian aid was delivered to Soledar district

The first shipment of UN humanitarian aid arrived in the front-line Soledar district of Donetsk region.

This was reported by the representative of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, Jens Laerke, on January 20, The Guardian wrote.

It is noted that a convoy of three trucks with supplies of food, water, hygiene products and medicines for approximately 800 people was sent to the area near Soledar, which is controlled by the Armed Forces.

The UN aims to increase the number of convoys with humanitarian aid near the front line, Laerke emphasized.

About 500 civilians still remained in Soledar as of last week, The Guardian noted.
