The French Parliament advocated the creation of a special tribunal on the aggression of the Russian Federation

The National Assembly of France - the lower house of the parliament - adopted a "very powerful" resolution in support of Ukraine and called for the creation of a special tribunal for the president of the Russian Federation and his closest entourage for the crime of aggression against Ukraine and beyond.

Maria Mezentseva, the head of the Ukrainian delegation to PACE, announced this on Facebook.

According to her, the resolution strongly condemns the gross, unjustified and illegal attack committed by the Russian Federation against the Ukrainian people and the crime of aggression committed against Ukraine.

The document, among other things, as reported by Mezentseva, welcomes France's creation of a fund in the amount of 100 million euros to facilitate the purchase of military equipment by Ukraine and asks the government to strengthen it if circumstances require it.

The resolution also, according to the head of the Ukrainian delegation to PACE, calls on the European Union and its member states to continue to fully support the International Criminal Court in its work to investigate any possible war crimes or crimes against humanity committed on the territory of Ukraine since the beginning of the aggression.

"The perpetrators of such crimes can be tried by the International Criminal Court or, if necessary, by a special tribunal after the end of the conflict," Mezentseva said in the resolution.

According to her, the French parliamentarians in the document also welcomed the decision of the government of the French Republic to deploy investigators of the French National Gendarmerie in the Izyuma region of the Kharkiv region and invited it to continue to actively support the collection and preservation of evidence of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
