The Security Service of Ukraine conducted counter-intelligence measures on the territory of the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Diocese of the UOC (MP), Russian documents and manuals of the occupiers were found.
"As a result of investigative actions, law enforcement officers discovered documents confirming the presence of Russian citizenship in the leadership of diocesan structures. Correspondence of diocesan leaders with their Moscow curators was also exposed, in which they receive "methodology" about the peculiarities of conducting church liturgies after a full-scale invasion," the message says.
According to the SSU, the representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church set the task of disinformation about the socio-political situation in Ukraine and the situation at the front, in particular, they demanded from the priests of the Russian Orthodox Church to deny the armed aggression of Russia, to talk about the alleged oppression of the "Moscow church".
"The Security Service of Ukraine also found warehouses with wholesale batches of pro-Kremlin literature, which praises the aggressor country and calls for support for the occupiers. In addition, during an inspection of the computers of the diocese's leadership, photocopies of identity cards of the Rashists who took part in hostilities against Ukrainian troops were found. Among of such documents - the certificate of the "hero of Russia", signed by the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation for the "seizure of Crimea" in 2014, - the Ukrainian special service informs.
As part of the criminal proceedings initiated by the investigators of the Security Service under part 2 of Art. 111 (treason) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, procedural actions continue.
In turn, People's Deputy Oleksiy Goncharenko reported on his Telegram channel that during the searches, the secretary of the Chernivtsi Diocese of the UOC MP was caught having sex with a boy from the church choir.
