"Friends, due to reasons related to health, which I cannot continue to ignore, I have made a difficult decision for myself. I am leaving the position of the head of the National Bank of Ukraine," Shevchenko wrote.
According to him, he has already appealed to the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, with a request to accept his resignation.
According to the mass media, one of the candidates for Shevchenko's replacement is Andrii Pishniy, the ex-head of Oschadbank.
As a reminder, Shevchenko was appointed head of the NBU on July 16, 2020, and he held this position for more than two years.
