Ukraine received EUR 500 million in grant aid from the European Union, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine reported on Thursday, September 29.

"The government of Ukraine received EUR 500 million in EU grant funds as part of the contract signed by the parties on September 5 this year regarding the development of the state and strengthening of stability," the Ministry of Finance reported.

The funds, as indicated, were received on September 28 and have already been credited to the general fund of the State Budget.

The specified funds will reportedly be directed to financing priority state expenditures, in particular in the social and humanitarian spheres.

"Part of the funds will also be directed to support food security and strengthen the country's economic stability by ensuring uninterrupted production of agricultural and food products, including by supporting small farms' access to working capital," the Ministry of Finance reported.

The EU approved another 5 billion euros of Ukraine's macro-finance.
