In Ukraine, a draft law was prepared on punishment for obtaining a passport of the Russian Federation

In Ukraine, a draft law has been prepared, which provides for criminal liability for obtaining a passport of the Russian Federation during the occupation and calls for this. This was reported by the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine.

 "With the participation of specialists from the GPU, SBU, the Ministry of Reintegration, human rights defenders, and people's deputies, a draft law has been prepared that introduces criminal liability," the report says.

 Reasons for this can be:

 acquisition of citizenship and/or obtaining a passport of the aggressor state by state officials or representatives of local self-government in the absence of signs of treason;

 propaganda, public appeals, coercion;

 limiting the rights of people who have not received citizenship or a passport of the aggressor state.

 The Ministry of Reintegration explains that obtaining a passport of the Russian Federation under occupation is justified only in cases where it is impossible to return to the controlled territory of Ukraine without it.

 "Hostile passporting, pressure to impose a passport of the Russian Federation are absolutely illegal and illegal," added the Ministry of Reintegration.
