U.S. Congressmen Continue Visiting Taiwan Despite China's Protests - The Government

The official spokesman for the Department of State, Ned Price, stated that U.S. congressional delegations will continue to visit Taiwan in spite of Peckin's protests.

A representative of the State Department announced this during a briefing.

In his words, such visits are fully in line with the "One China" policy pursued by the U.S. leadership "for a long time.

"U.S. congressional delegations have been visiting Taiwan for ten years and continue to do so," he said.

A U.S. congressional delegation flew to Taiwan on Friday. Politicians planned to stay on the island until September 15. During the visit, Americans met with Taiwanese leaders. The U.S. delegation was led by Senator Ed Markey (Democratic Party).
