Zelensky thanked Johnson for his support of Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had a telephone conversation with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Thursday, the president's press service reported.

"In connection with the announcement by Boris Johnson of the resignation of the head of the Conservative Party, the President of Ukraine expressed to the Prime Minister his sincere gratitude for the decisive and uncompromising support of our state from the first days of full-scale Russian aggression, as well as for the leadership in defending the interests of Ukraine in the international arena," the press service of the Ukrainian leader reported.

"All of us took this news with sadness. Not only me, but also the entire Ukrainian society, which is very sympathetic to you. My entire office and all Ukrainians are grateful for your help. We have no doubts that the support of Britain will remain, but your personal leadership and charisma made it special," Zelensky stressed.

The head of state also informed his interlocutor about the development of the situation on the front. The current state and prospects of Ukrainian-British cooperation were discussed. The sides paid special attention to the issues of defense cooperation and political support for Ukraine. Another key topic of the talks was the unblocking of grain exports from Ukrainian ports.
