Germany has changed its mind to nationalize Gazprom's subsidiary so as not to anger Putin - Bloomberg

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz opposed the full nationalization of Gazprom Germania so as not to anger Russian President Vladimir Putin. German Economy Minister Robert Habek spoke in favor of joining the state capital of the former Gazprom subsidiary.

This was reported by Bloomberg.

Scholz is concerned that such a move could strain relations between Russia and Germany over Russian gas imports. But to save the financial situation of Gazprom Germania, the German government intends to allocate up to 10 billion euros. The group owns Germany's largest natural gas storage facility and has a global sales team with branches in London and Singapore.

The German government took control of Gazprom Germania in April 2022.
