Zelensky named exchange, de-occupation and peace as goals of his meeting with Putin

The agenda of a possible meeting with Russian President Putin depends primarily on the timing of such a meeting. But the goals of such talks from the very beginning were as follows: exchange, de-occupation, and an end to the war.

Volodymyr Zelensky said this in an interview on the occasion of the third anniversary of his inauguration.

"Whether the conversation with Putin ends the war depends on when we meet. The purpose of the meeting changes. Like hybrid war, so, frankly, there will be hybrid peace and hybrid meetings," Zelensky noted.

The President stressed that if he met with Putin today, the issue of Mariupol would be in ajenda.

"If we meet in 2-3 months, this issue may not be... if we were to meet today, we know what is occupied and what is de-occupied. If we were to meet in 2 months - we don't know what state it will be in... Decide on exchange, de-occupation, peace, end of war. That's the whole adjenda. That's what it was from the beginning. That is, it was not so specific, because there was no specificity in the results of the current war," Zelensky explained.

The president of Ukraine is sure that Ukraine and Russia will definitely have a conversation, but it is not known what format it will be in: with mediators, without mediators, in a broad format or at the level of the presidents.
