Zelensky: the state must guarantee Ukrainians 100% of their bank deposits

President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that the state is obliged to guarantee 100% of Ukrainians' bank deposits.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has instructed the National Bank of Ukraine, deputies and officials to find an opportunity to guarantee 100% of Ukrainians' deposits in banks.

He said this in his video message on the night of Thursday to Friday.

"This is a special task for the National Bank of Ukraine, for the people's deputies and our officials. I instructed to find such a legislative possibility that the state will guarantee 100% of deposits in banks. 100%. Not a part, as now, as always, but completely. The entire deposit. In any bank of our state," said the president.

Zelenskyy added that he is waiting for the relevant draft decision and expressed hope that the Verkhovna Rada will not delay in supporting it. He also added that on March 18, the Cabinet will vote on a large-scale reduction of regulations.

"There were more than 600 permits and licenses for businesses, and about 20 remain mandatory. Only those that are simply impossible to cancel. Like, for example, on the handling of radioactive waste," Zelensky said.

President Zelensky also announced interest-free loans for businesses during wartime.
