The French Republic will provide Ukraine with 1.2 billion euros of program financing, which can be used for specific development projects. This was stated by the deputy head of the Office of the President Rostislav Shurma, reports the Official Internet Representative Office of the President of Ukraine.

"The President of France announced a new program of financial cooperation with Ukraine. In addition to the already allocated macrofinancial support of 1.2 billion euros from the European Union, the French side will allocate another 1.2 billion euros of program financing, "- he explained.

In particular, according to the deputy head of the Office of the President, the Ministry of Economy and Finance of France will provide the Government of Ukraine with EUR 200 million of credit and financial guarantees for EUR 1 billion. Under these guarantees, our state will be able to receive loans from French banks on favorable terms.

According to Rostislav Shurma, these funds can be directed to specific development projects agreed with the French side.

"Areas for the use of these funds will be further agreed with the French side and will involve French suppliers and contractors," he said.

In addition, the documents were signed on the financing and supply of electric locomotives Alstom in the amount of 900 million euros to Ukraine, the supply of fire-fighting and rescue equipment for the State Fire Service and the construction of patrol boats for the State Border Service of Ukraine, for which separate financing is provided, said Rostislav Shurma.
