We will not pay with blood again for the inability of the West to respond quickly to Russia - Dmitry Kuleba

Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that Ukrainians will not pay in blood again for the West's inability to respond quickly to the Russian Federation in case of a new invasion of Ukraine. According to him, the mistakes of 2014 have no right to repeat.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing his briefing.

"Our position is that Russia is capable of acting non-linearly, but the mistakes of 2014 have no right to repeat. Therefore, we will not accept any attempts, if any, to explain to Ukraine that it is not necessary to do something to deter Russia's invasion, because there is not big enough invasion or not enough evidence that it is Russian soldiers," Kuleba said.

According to him, Ukraine has been through all this a long time ago.

"We will not pay with the blood of our citizens again for our partners' inability to draw quick and clear conclusions about Russia's actions. We are talking about this frankly. I have no doubt whatsoever that the U.S. supports us, nor that it supports us not only with words but also with concrete deeds. Neither in the fact that in case active hostilities start, the US and the EU will have no other choice but to apply tough sanctions against the Russian Federation," Kuleba added.

Earlier, Kuleba said that Russian President Vladimir Putin himself does not know whether he will invade Ukraine. In his opinion, so far he is only intimidating Kiev and the world in general.

He also noted that Washington has already decided on tough sanctions if Moscow decides to invade.
