Ukraine is ready to reduce the cost of gas transit - Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen during a telephone conversation discussed in detail the energy security of Europe, Interfax-Ukraine reported.

"The Ukrainian president stressed that our state is ready to reduce the cost of gas transit through its territory and provide its own underground storage facilities to store the strategic fuel reserve," the Ukrainian head of state's website said Wednesday.

In this regard, Zelenskyy reiterated that the Nord Stream-2 project is, first and foremost, a security threat to all of Europe and presented a number of proposals aimed at preventing an energy crisis in Europe. In particular, the interlocutors discussed the idea of creating a regional platform to strengthen energy security, the report said.
