Ukrainian GTS declared its readiness to deliver additional gas to the EU

Ukrainian GTS meets all the requirements for safe and reliable operation of gas pipelines, it has the capacity to transport 69.3 billion cubic meters of gas per year to the European countries, according to Ukrinform.

Yuriy Ziabchenko, Chief Engineer of the Operator of the Ukrainian GTS, stated about it speaking at the VII Ukrainian Gas Forum.

"Considering only the existing two entry points - Suja and Sohranovka, defined by the current contract, the Ukrainian GTS is capable and ready to transport 69.3 billion cubic meters of gas per year," - said Zyabchenko.

The current contract provides for the transportation of 109 million cubic meters of gas per day (this is 40 billion cubic meters per year), but at the moment only 90 million cubic meters are transited.

The UGTSU reminded that it constantly updates the infrastructure and implements a large-scale modernization program. Work on the design and construction of 10 compressor stations is carried out.

The chief engineer also said that in order to minimize the risk of emergency situations OGTSU is introducing the Integrity Management System, which includes all the technological and diagnostic information about the facilities of the gas transportation system.
